Scope
This notice covers the public marketing website at praestologica.com. It does not cover the Praesto app, which has its own Privacy Policy. The account pages on this site (sign in, sign up, your account, billing, password reset and email confirmation) are part of the app, so that Privacy Policy covers them, and neither Google Analytics nor HeyCatch runs on them.
Who we are
Praesto Logica ("we", "us") is the controller of personal data collected through this site. For privacy questions, data-subject access requests, or to exercise any of the rights described below, write to [email protected].
What we collect on this site
Email-related contact. When you write to one of our published email addresses (e.g. [email protected]), your message and email address are received by us and retained for as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable history of the conversation.
Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, timestamp, user agent, referrer, path) for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational analytics.
Feature-usage data (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site: pages viewed, referrers, device type, and approximate (city-level) location derived by Google from your IP address. Google does not store your full IP address; it is used transiently to derive coarse location and then discarded. GA4 sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or cross-site/behavioral ad tracking, and we do not collect precise or GPS location.
Product analytics (HeyCatch). If you press Accept on the cookie banner, we also use HeyCatch, a product analytics service, to see which pages visitors view and which links and buttons they click. HeyCatch stores an identifier in your browser to tell visitors apart. If you do not press Accept, or you press Decline, HeyCatch does not run. It does not run on the account pages or on the pages for our other apps.
On-page interactions. Some events record what you do on a page rather than only which page you were on: which links and buttons you click, how far down you scroll, and which sections you reach. One is worth naming on its own. The homepage carries a short self-test headed "A few of these may ring true.", and marking or unmarking one of its statements records which statement it was and which way it went, so that we can learn which of them visitors recognise. There is nothing to type into it: it asks for no name, no email address and no account, and a mark is joined to the same analytics identifier as every other event described here, and to nothing else. Your choice, below, governs these events exactly as it governs the rest.
Your choice. For visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default and load only after you accept them in the consent banner; until then GA runs in a cookieless mode that sends only aggregate, non-identifying signals. Visitors elsewhere are opted in by default and can decline at any time using the same banner. Clearing this site's cookies and local storage will make the banner appear again so you can change your choice.
Page-version testing. We sometimes run two versions of this site's wording to learn which one explains the product more clearly. The first time you arrive, your browser picks one at random and remembers the choice in local storage (under praesto-ab-landing-anyq) so the page does not change between visits. The stored value is a single letter; it is not a cookie, it is not sent to us on its own, and it identifies nothing about you. If analytics are active for you, that letter is attached to your Google Analytics events so we can compare the two versions in aggregate. Clearing this site's local storage resets it.
A headline chosen by your answer. The homepage self-test described above also has one effect on the page itself. The first statement you mark on a visit picks the homepage headline: the page changes to a headline that answers that statement, and shows it again on your later visits. Your browser remembers the choice in local storage (under praesto-hero-answer) as a short word naming the headline; it is not a cookie, it is not sent to us on its own, and it identifies nothing about you. While a headline is stored it is shown in place of the test version above, and if analytics are active for you, the name of the headline you were shown is attached to your Google Analytics events in the same way as the letter. Marking a first statement on a later visit replaces it, and clearing this site's local storage removes it.
Subprocessors
We use a small number of vendors to operate this site. They process personal data only on our instructions, under written terms.
- Site hosting: the static site is served from a commercial hosting provider that records standard request logs.
- Google (Google Analytics 4): processes the usage data described above to provide aggregate site analytics. See policies.google.com/privacy for their terms.
- HeyCatch: processes the page views and clicks described above, only for visitors who pressed Accept. See heycatch.ai for their terms.
A current subprocessor list for the Praesto app is available on request.
Legal bases (EEA / UK visitors)

For security logs, we rely on legitimate interest in protecting the site from abuse. For analytics cookies, we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive), which you give through the consent banner and can withdraw at any time as described above.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. You can withdraw consent to any communications at any time by replying to any message you receive from us or by emailing [email protected]. EEA, UK, and California residents have additional rights under GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA; we will honor them on request.
