Washington's My Health My Data Act treats some kinds of data as "consumer health data". One of them is biometric data that identifies you. This page explains the one place where Praesto touches that kind of data, for people in Washington. Our Privacy Policy still applies to everything else.
What we collect and why. If you turn on speaker support, the app creates a voice profile of your own voice on your device: 128 numbers that describe how your voice sounds. It is used for one purpose, to tell your speech apart from other people's so the app can show you how you spoke. We do not collect any other consumer health data. We do not infer anything about your health from your voice or your words.
Where it comes from. From you, when you read a short passage after agreeing on the consent screen.
Where it goes. Nowhere. It stays in your device's secure keychain. It is never sent to Praesto, never backed up, and never copied to another device. We do not share it or sell it with anyone, and we have no copy.
How long we keep it. We do not keep it. Your device does, until you sign out on that device, change your password, delete your account, or, while speaker support is offered, delete it in the app (Profile, then Your voice & the room).
Your rights. While speaker support is offered in the app, you can see whether a voice profile exists on your device (Profile, then Your voice & the room) and delete it there. You can always delete it, and so withdraw your consent, by signing out of the app on that device. Because it never reaches us, there is nothing for us to access or delete on your behalf, but you can still write to [email protected] with any request and we will answer within 45 days. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and we will respond within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Washington Attorney General.
